The Sher Bahadur Deuba panel has achieved a sweeping victory in the parliamentary party election of the Nepali Congress. In the election held to pick 22 parliamentary party executive committee members of the party, Deuba panel has won 18 seats while Paudel panel has secured only four seats. Ram Chandra Kharel, Rajan KC, Gita Wagle, and Dipak Khadka have been elected from the Paudel panel. From Deuba panel, Rajiv Bikram Shah was elected unopposed on Thursday itself under the backward region category.
